(Day 1) — U.S./Havana, Cuba

  • Flight departure from USA to Havana, Cuba  
  • Flight arrives at “Jose Marti” International Airport in Havana, Cuba.  
  • Transfer by private motor coach to hotel in Havana.
  • Meeting at hotel lobby for Introductions and review of itinerary details
  • Light lunch at Hotel
  • Walking Tour of Old Havana with a local, to learn about Cuban architecture and about the current restoration programs conducted by NGOs in Havana. Visit local’s dwellings and learn about Cuban’s living conditions in Old Havana.
  • Dinner at Paladar “La Guarida”, one of the oldest and most popular privately owned restaurants in Cuba, where Oscar-nominated film “Strawberry and Chocolate” was filmed.
  • Options will be provided to enjoy cultural activities in the evening.

( Day 2 ) — Havana

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit Arts School.  Meet with professors and students and learn about their work.
  • Visit Fuster’s Studio. Meet with one of Cuba’s most famous artists. Witness first-hand the inspiring community arts project.
  • Lunch at “El Aljibe” restaurant in Miramar area.
  • Explore modern Havana by bus, stopping along the way to rest and learn about places of historical and/or cultural relevance, such as the Capitol building, the Revolution Square, the University of Havana, etc.
  • Visit Cuba’s largest cemetery: “Colon”; which also considered a Museum and historical site. Learn about Cuban culture and how cemeteries are run in this “socialist” country.
  • Dinner at “San Cristobal” Restaurant; one of Havana’s best privately owned restaurants, where President Obama had dinner during his recent visit to Cuba. Learn from Restaurant Owner & staff about running a Private business in today’s Cuba.
  • Options will be provided to enjoy cultural activities in the evening.

( Day 3) Havana- Matanzas-Havana

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Depart for Matanzas city, known as “The Athens of Cuba” for the number of artists and writers that were born and/or raised in that city.
  • Stopped along the way at Bacunayagua bridge, the highest one in Cuba with breathtaking views of Yumuri Valley.
  • Visit arts projects and Meet with artists in Matanzas city
  • Lunch .
  • Visit local arts projects in Varadero city.
  • Return to Havana
  • Dinner on own at local restaurant (Suggestions will be provided). NOT INCLUDED in Package price
  • Options will be provided to enjoy cultural activities in the evening.

( Day 4 )  Havana

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit Cuba’s National Museum of Fine Arts. Enjoy the wonderful display of paintings, sculptures and installations made by the best Cuban artists by the hands of a knowledgeable Cuban arts specialist.
  • Lunch at “O’Reilly 304” in Old Havana
  • Visit well-known artists’ studios. Meet with artists.
  • Dinner at “El Litoral”, one of Havana’s newest and best family-run restaurants.
  • Options will be provided to enjoy cultural activities in the evening.

(Day 5) — Havana- Vinales-Havana

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Departure for “Las Terrazas” Community…a unique town in Cuba which is a protected biosphere reserve as well as community project where a number of well-known artists have lived.
  • Lunch at farmer’s house.
  • Meet with artists and learn about the community project.
  • Dinner at “Cafe Laurent”
  • Options will be provided to enjoy cultural activities in the evening.

(Day 6) — Havana

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit “Callejon de Hamel” a renowned Afro-Cuban arts’ community project.Meet Salvador Gonzalez, the artists and promoter of the project.
  • Visit the Ballet school of Havana where kids, teenagers and adults are trained to become Cuba’s best dancers.
  • Lunch in Old Havana
  • Visit art galleries and market. Engage in conversations with locals.
  • Dinner at “El Cocinero”, one of the newest family-run restaurants, owned by Cuban artist.
  • Visit “Fabrica de Arte”, the most popular art’s project in Havana, where visual artists, musicians and young entrepreneurs express their talents.

(Day 7) — Havana-U.S.A

  • Hotel check-out
  • Transfer to “Jose Marti” International Airport in Havana.
  • Flight departs to USA from Havana
